Happy birthday, Carol! Your writing was the topic of the first email my husband Tim Pratt ever sent me, back when he was looking for an excuse to contact me after we met at a brunch. Thank you for giving us something wonderful to talk about as we were getting to know one another!
Happy birthday to a writer who has been an inspiration. Although I have not seen you for three decades, I am continuing to read you with great pleasure.
Carol, lots of birthday congratulations from all of us here at Tachyon Publications. We've been delighted to publish your books, and it's been terrific getting to know you in the process. Here's to you! (drinks :) xox Jacob & Rina Weisman
Have the happiest of birthdays, Carol! Please know that you have made a huge difference in my life as my teacher at Clarion a bizillion years ago, as a writer whose work is transcendent, and as a friend who is willing to share multiple meals at WisCon along with your thoughts on the meaning of life and writing. May a thousand brass bands celebrate your life! You deserve it.
I'm a day late but the wish is still strong today. May all your days please you and may there be many more... and may we spend a few of them together again in the valley we both love.
I told my granddaughter (who's busy planning her 4th birthday) that I went to a birthday party for my friend and "guess how old she is? 90!" She said, "Wow, she must be really big." (She knows how long it takes to count to 90 by ones.) It's an honor to know such a "big" person> gay terry
